A sad note indeed.... We have lost another entertainment comedic icon! Television, Movies, Voice-Overs, Commercials, Cartoon characters..etc..etc.. I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with, get to know and laugh with throughout the years! A blessing to know you Gilbert! Keep'em laughing.

While in college, one of the events that started my experience in photo journalism as an AP Stringer was an airshow that I was photographing for the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and Niagara Falls International Airshow in WNY in the late 80's. Two Blue Angels US Navy Demonstration team jet pilots collided in a mid-air collision performing at the airshow. I was able to capture the collision and aftermath. One of the pilots was killed in the accident. It was horrific to see yet I had the sense to stay poised and then drive 90 miles an hour to the Buffalo News where the images were developed (film in those days NO digital) and then sent to outlets to be reproduced in Washington Post, New York Times etc... it was exciting, scary and sad all at the same time.

Ok 2022... here we go! Meatloaf has left a indelible mark on me for a number of reasons and not just growing up with the music of Bat out of Hell. I met and collaborated with the then lead guitarist of Meatloaf (Bat out of Hell II David Gellis ) which lead to a long friendship. I remember the time being backstage at a Meat concert and Dave giving me his silk "tour jacket" I became an instant "groupy" magnet!... "lots of great stories and good times" 😇 That molded into a startup business with he and I in the early 90's. We were business partners for 11 years producing music marketing for some of the top labels in the music industry.
In later years one of my clients at the time was 429 Records (SLG Music). 429 records brought so many performers and bands to life and "back" to life and Meatloaf was one of them. I had the distinct pleasure of working on Meatloaf's last album "Braver Than We Are" as creative director leaving his legacy in true "Meat" Style (as you can tell by the Bat out of Hell lineage look. Thank you to all that brought me into "Marvin Lee Aday's" (ak'a Meat Loaf ) world of iconic music and rock opera!

Awe! Almost to centenarian status Betty! Well, you have lived a life that many dream of! Television was just invented in the late 20's and you were on in 1939 at the age 17. So basically, you have been on TV since it was invented! How many can say that? What a pleasure to have met and worked with you on a fabulous Friars Roast event. RIP. You will be missed.
